Weare Bible Baptist Church is a loving, serving, Independent Baptist fellowship that stands firmly upon the fundamental doctrines of Scripture and seeks to daily reach our community and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Services
On Sunday mornings, we gather at 10:00 AM for separate men’s, ladies’, and children’s Sunday School classes, followed by a traditional worship service at 11:00 am. After the service, we host our Fellowship Service–a time of fellowship around a potluck meal followed by an interactive Bible study. We also meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM for an uplifting hour of prayer and Bible study. We’d love to have you join us!

Our History

Weare Bible Baptist Church has a more than 250-year history in the town of Weare. The first Baptist church in Weare was established in 1768. The 1800s saw that church split, and later one of those resulting churches split again five ways. One of those five churches, the East Weare Baptist Church, outlasted all of the others and continued into the early 1900s. This church met in the old village of East Weare, a part of town which is no longer in existence today after multiple floods forced the government to build a series of dams and residents had to abandon the area.
After the evacuation of the old town, the East Weare Baptist Church moved to North Stark Highway, built our current building in 1961, and changed its name to Weare Bible Baptist Church. In 2024, Weare Bible merged with Village Chapel Baptist Church, a 20-year-old church plant in the area of north Weare. After more than 250 years in the town of Weare, WBBC is still a pillar for truth in the community and a witness proclaiming the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ to all.
Our Pastor

Pastor Josh Barnes grew up in a pastor’s home in Pennsylvania where he was saved at a young age and felt called to preach in his early teens. He attended Crown College of the Bible, where he met his wife, Alissa, and together they surrendered to God’s call to full-time ministry.
In 2016, he and his family moved to southern New Hampshire where he served for five years as an assistant pastor. In July 2021, he accepted the call to become the pastor of Weare Bible Baptist Church and continues to serve there with a passion for biblical teaching and discipleship.
A dedicated student of the Scriptures, Pastor Barnes is committed to preaching the Word of God with faithfulness and accuracy. Beyond his pastoral duties, he actively engages in theological discussions through The Bible Explained, a YouTube channel where he explores complex biblical topics through videos and livestreams. His ministry aims to equip believers with a strong foundation in God’s Word while reaching new audiences with the truth of the gospel.
